Anthroposophic Health and Social Care Organisations

A number of key organisations are involved in supporting, representing and training specific professional groups with Anthroposophic Health and Social Care, or providing specific care or services.

Patients and Friends of Anthroposophic Medicine

PAFAM is an association for the Patients and Friends of Anthroposophic Medicine whose main aim is to promote and enable the furtherance of Anthroposophic Medicine within the UK and to support the individual’s right to choose their own medical treatment whilst becoming more aware of their personal responsibility towards their individual healthcare process. Anthroposophic Health Care Centres

A number of centres exist where Anthroposophic Medicine is practised in England and Scotland, including NHS General Practice settings, charities, hospitals and therapy centres operating on a private or charitable basis.

The Anthroposophic Medical Association represents Anthroposophic Medicine in the UK and now a number of other professionals can also become members.

The IVAA (International Federation of Anthroposophic Medical Associations) represents anthroposophic medicine internationally

Anthroposophic Pharmacy

Pharmacists can join the Anthroposophic Medical Association who represent Anthroposophic Medicine in the UK.
Pharmacists who are involved with the development, production and distribution of Anthroposophic Medicinal Products (AMP) are organised in the International Association of Anthroposophic Pharmacists (IAAP).
Weleda UK distributes the majority of medicines and preparations such as massage oils used in Anthroposophic Medicine in the UK.
Dr Hauschka Skin Care is an advanced range of natural skincare products by Wala.

Anthroposophic Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedical Professionals

There is no longer an anthroposophic nursing association in the UK but nurses, midwives and paramedical professionals can join the Anthroposophic Medical Association.

Anthroposophic Therapeutic Arts

The UK Association of Anthroposophic Therapeutic Art (AATA) represents therapists working with Anthroposophic Therapeutic Art modalities in the UK, including Therapeutic Speech.

The Ruskin Mill Trust runs a mixture of schools, colleges and centres for people with intellectual disabilities

Regulation

The Council for Anthroposophic Health & Social Care (CAHSC) (the voluntary regulator for the anthroposophic health and social care professions in the UK and Ireland) has now closed. Professionals who require to be regulated will be able to tell you their own statutory or voluntary regulator.
