Healthy Social Environments CANCELLED

  • Saturday, May 14, 2022
  • 09:30 - 17:00
  • St Brides Hall GL5 4HB

How do we create healthy social environments and at the same time maintain professionalism and healthy boundaries?

Social health is a major contributor to the individual health of our children as well as ourselves. The experience of isolation during the last two years confirmed this. Children are strongly influenced by their social environment, the processes and structures in which they live. An environment governed by fear, which lacks courage, empathy and open-mindedness may have a detrimental impact on children’s emotional development. Working together well is an essential skill set in order to provide a healthy social environment and to equip our children to meet the many challenges of the future. Anthroposophy wants to inspire and transform our thinking and extend our knowledge which requires us to create relationships that are built on truth, love and shared enthusiasm for the spirit. In this way, we can contribute constructively to the children’s wellbeing and also to the social organism of our work environment. This will then be a source of spiritual and emotional wellbeing to ourselves and the children as well as helping to realise our educational goals.

We are delighted to have Dr Peter Gruenewald (GP, Anthroposophic physician and international trainer) teach the principles and practice of these building blocks of social health. The knowledge and skills of self-leadership and social hygiene enrich our own experience of working together and also serve to the benefit of the other. This is true for educational and therapeutic settings as well as work or social environments. With Karin Jarman (Art therapist, trainer and Oasis facilitator) we will have the opportunity to deepen this experience and practise the skills in small groups.

All teachers, therapists, nurses and doctors are welcome!
